The long-awaited tour happened after being cooped up for two years due to the pandemic. Riaad is embarking on a virtual world tour and is exploring the possibility of adding more shows to reach a wider demographic.
Riaad’s comedy is based on his everyday life and experiences which captivates the audiences as they can often relate to his hilarious encounters. The husband and dad of 4 explains that he has two podcasts in the pipeline. The first is called The Best Medicine and he partners up with Stuart Taylor, KG Mokgadi and Nik Rabinowitz called Everybody loves Dad in the second, where the four comedic fathers’ team up and discuss their parenting tactics.
When asked if he would consider the chair at The Daily Show, Riaad politely said that his career now allows him to be a family man and still perform. “Capetown is beautiful, my family is there,” said Moosa. He would like to one day perform in the Comedy clubs of Manhattan with the likes of his favourite comedians, Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld.
His advice to aspiring stand-up comedians is not to be interjected by failure, it’s just a pathway to success. “This is a learning process, the problem is as you get older you become more susceptible to negativity and it prevents you from getting up and trying again. If you can have a better relationship with failure then you will progress faster.” A fun fact that not many people know about Riaad is that he is good at basketball. “I used to be able to jump which is an unusual thing for Indian people.”
You can catch Riaad Moosa live at various venues around the country and tickets can be purchased via Ticketpro.
